Back to school

Carson and Kenna were so excited to get back to school. It is all they have been talking about for weeks! They looked so cute and had great days!

First day of Kindergarten!

Holy CRAP! Coren just started Kindergarten. I am not sure if I should be happy or sad, but it was definitly a very exciting day. He was so ready to go, and didn't have a nervous bone in his body. He made friends, loved his teacher and aide, and is so excited to go back. It was hard for me to watch him walk away, but luckily Steve was there harrasing me so that I didn't cry! I am not really sure what to do with my life now, since I will kind of have some free time. I am sure I will find something to do!

Back to school night!

We started off our back to school night celebration with some Chinese Food. It was fun to sit outside and be the only ones in the whole restaurant. We took some glamor shot photos, because that is what you do at Chinese Food, right?

I know they are sad excuses for glamor shots, but we were at a restaurant, what do you think we are weirdos?

Once we got to the school Kenna got to play the role of SBO greeting people as they walked in, and even offered to start off the assembly and speak in front of all 700 students and their parents. She had about 5 minutes to prepare and she did an amazing job. We were so proud of her!

Bingham Canyon Mine

Grandpa Johns took us out for a great day! First we went to the Bingham Canyon Mine. I have wanted to take the kids for a while, but we just had never gotten around to it. I was shocked! It was so cool! The kids loved it. It is so amazing what cool things are out there that I have yet to see (did you know you can see it from space?). Next we went to lunch at Chuck-a-Rama which is always a huge hit. We had a great day and loved spending time with Grandpa. Hopefully he survived our craziness!

Shooting

This year Steve brought a gun up. I am not sure what kind of gun it is, but I do know that it is not a machine gun, or a bazooka, or a bb gun. Hope that helps! It was really fun, even though I totally sucked at it. Our targets were soda cans, and the cans were pretty "shot" at the end. Man, I kill myself with my dumb jokes!

I didn't see everyone shoot, but the word on the streets was that Grandpa and Kenna hit the most cans.

zippty zip zip...

...zip line!

You haven't lived until you have tried our zip-line. This bad boy is one of the best rides you will take. This year we spiced it up a little and added some lubricant and man did we fly, and almost die! Note to self... cooking spray makes for a fast zip line. You will slam into the tree at the end. But, you like it!

Here are some of our action shots. This year was a big one because Brooke attempted it for the first time (and I think the rest of her family), Cameron almost fell off and I saved his life and got a huge kiss right on the lips, and many of us were able to experience the excitement of a near death experience.

The zip line is a must try. Sure, my arm has a nice bruise on it, but the fun was worth every ounce of pain. Next time we will pass on the cooking spray... maybe!

Running the river.

One of the really fun things to do in Lava is to tube down the river. If you go too early in the season, you can easily drowned, or if you are later in the season like us, you will get all cut up on rocks, and still have a shot at drowning at some points. See why we love it?

Steve and the kids went down and flipped. Carson hit his head on a rock and was done for the day. Coren cut his leg all up, almost drowned but was saved by his sister, and Steve's back was trashed. Makenna was uninjured but a little shaken. I watched safely from the shore!
