Corens first job!

Coren was really lucky and got to go help Grandpa at work for two days! He worked really hard and had a great time. He even had a big payday! He thinks he has a job now, and was really excited to buy a Zhu Zhu pet with part of his money. Thanks Grandps!

Six year old!

Coren turned 6. It is so sad. I cannot believe that he is getting so big. I am trying my hardest to keep him little but it isn't working! Just last night I noticed that I still give him baby shampoo to use on his head. I started to laugh. I mean really, he is 6 and I make him use baby shampoo. WOW! I love the smell, what can I say? Plus, I got a ton of it free a while ago, so he might as well use it!

He wanted to have a bounce house party, so he took a couple of friends and we went to the bounce houses at Classic Fun Center. They were all so wild on the way there and on the way home they barely spoke. I think I did a great job wearing them out. It was pretty funny!

We didn't do a big family party for him, mostly because no-one lives here anymore (rude people) but Grandma and Grandpa came over and spoiled him as usual. We gave him a Nintendo DS which he has been wanting forever. He had a great Birthday!

Fun hike

We went on a really fun hike with the Bischoff's. After the hike we had dinner in the canyon and it was SO dang GOOD! I love mountain food. The kids had fun on the hike and loved playing in the river at the top! And DANG, doesn't Coren look cute! Little Pimp!

Ride em cowboy!

Steve riding the mechanical bull at the state fair. Pretty funny!

Boyz to Men Concert

Boyz to Men concert at the fair. And, they sounded pretty good!

Utah State Fair

Every single year I look forward to the Fair. I am white trash like that. This year was so much fun. We went with Tim and Emily and we had a blast... except when I a goat sneezed and got its nasty goat boogers ALL OVER ME, even on my face! The fair is a dangerous place, watch out. That was not pretty! Other than the booger incident, that I am still trying to get over, we had a blast.

Bored Boy!

Coren has been a little on the bored side these days, at least until the big kids get home from school. Here is an example of what he comes up with for entertainment. I love that kid!

Who would have thought that these little bracelets could cause such a stir? The kids just had to have them. Shaped like rockets, famous landmarks, and of course glowing in the dark, they are the thing to have, until something cooler comes out that is! How fashionable!

HOLY Tomato

I have to admit that it is pretty funny to think back to the first part of summer when I was SO DANG worried about my garden and if it was going to survive. It has more than survived, and all I can say is HOLY FREAKIN TOMATO'S! They are coming out of my ears. I walk outside and all I see is little red balls everywhere, surrounded by millions of zucchini's. I won't complain, but really how many tomato's can a person eat. We eat salsa, bruschetta, homemade pasta sauce, BLT's, and pretty much every other tomato related item you can eat. Here is Coren with one days worth of tomato's. Lesson learned. Do not stress about the garden, it will grow~

lost

Well the kids are all officially in school and I must admit that while all of this free time has been nice, I am also a little lost without them. We had the best summer ever and I miss doing fun things with them every day!

I miss sleeping in and then making big choices like if we wanted to swim, or go to lunch, or shopping, or to movies. It is sad not hearing them laughing all of the time.

BUT, with that being said, it is nice having some time to myself. I was recently told that kids, "are supposed to grow up" and you know what, that is true! I guess I would be in an even worse place if my kids weren't progressing! It brings me great joy to see how excited they are to go to school each day. They can't wait! They love their teacher, their friends, and even their work! The are learning so much. And, it is good for me to let them go and gain some independence. I think I will enjoy my time alone more and more.

The thing that makes me the most lost is that I feel like they are growing up too fast and then what? I don't want to be some old wrinkly woman sitting in my rocking chair knitting something telling stories about when my kids were little to my Great Grandkids! I mean I guess it wouldn't be SO bad, but it just means that life DOES go too fast!

So for now the kids are off at school having great days, the house is quiet, and there is laundry to be done! Time to party!
