Yum Yum

The other morning we woke up to Carson serving a delicious breakfast in bed.  Kenna is famous for making us breakfast in bed, and it looks like Carson is following in her footsteps.
We each had our own tray including, wheat puffs, 3 Ritz crackers, water, and Oreo's for dessert.  It was so good, and we were so happy that Carson would take the time to make us such a great surprise.

Grandeur Peak Hike

Our family took a huge hike up to Grandeur Peak.  When we set out, and I saw the trail, I thought that there was no way that we would make it to the top, but they were such good hikers!!

The hike was tough, I have to admit that I even struggled a bit, but after 2 1/2 hours we were at the top.  I was so amazed, my kids are tough kids!!
The view from the top was so amazing.  I wish that we had packed a lunch so that we could have stayed and enjoyed it longer.

The kids loved crossing the bridge.  They thought it was so much fun.  We made it down in just over an hour.  Me and Carson ran down the last mile.  It was so much fun.  We were flying past people and I kept hearing them say, "Did you see that little boy?"  He was very proud because he was the first one to the top, and the first one to the bottom.  Round trip our hike was 7 miles.  It was lots of fun, and I am sure that the kids will never forget it!

Friday night.  24 without sleep.  Kids that want to play.
Friday night we had a fun time BBQ'n and playing in the yard.  We bought our first watermelon of the season, and Carson was in heaven.  Steve was home and the kids had tons of fun torturing him and beating on him.

We are so excited for summer!

Snake!

Carson was extremely proud of his poster for his report on Green Tree Pythons.  It took us a whole 30 minutes to make, and used up all of the ink in the printer but he thinks it is the greatest thing ever.  He wanted to make it himself, so I let him.  I know it is not the same quality work as Makenna's diorama, but what do you expect, I can only do so much!!!

HOT LOVE!

A few months ago I started getting these magazines that I never ordered.  So each month I flip through them, and then I set them in the magazine stack.  They are pretty weird, and a little sleazy, but I still keep them around... for a rainy day I guess.  I keep the magazines in the office that is right next to the front door on a table that is in front of the window.  The window that is right by the door.  (Are you getting the picture here?)
The other day I am standing at my front door, probably because my kids locked me out or something and I glance in the window.  I see a magazine that says in big letters "HOT LOVE" and there is some girl striking a pose!  It is one of those magazines that they probably keep in the plastic wrap at the check stand (in Utah and Idaho anyways).
I just busted up laughing because I am sure that when people are at my front door they totally see the magazine and wonder what in the heck goes on at our house.  It has now been replaced with a Playboy, just to ensure that our UPS deliveries keep arriving early.  I wondered why that delivery guy was always so nice!

So unnecessary!

Carson came home from school the other day and said he was one of the only kids in the class that had not passed off tying their shoes.  I of course was shocked, because I had no clue that he was supposed to learn to tie his shoes... he doesn't even have shoes that tie, so why would he need to learn how to tie shoes???  Seriously, what is wrong with our Education System?  But, I taught him, so he can now tie MY shoes.  Way to go Cars!!

School Project

Makenna is working on a massive school project, a County Report.  I feel like it is a college project with how much work it has been.  Last night we finally completed the diorama.  Her county is Summit, so we did a ski resort.  It was fun to do, and we got pretty into it.

All I can say is that she better get a good grade on this thing, because honestly it was my best work!!!

Gotta have it!

I see these AWESOME bullet holes on peoples cars all of the time.  They add so much to a car, and really make them stand out.  Whenever I see them it makes me wonder who the cool person is driving the car and what happened to them.  Were they in a gang fight?  Was it a drug deal gone bad?  Or really, why on EARTH would you put these on your car???

But, still I find myself wanting some for my ride.  I want to look cool!  I only need two (I don't want to scare anyone, or come across too rebellious!) and they come in a four pack... anyone want to go in on them with me?  Don't be shy!

Nursery Rhyme Festival

Carson had a Nursery Rhyme Festival at school.  It was such a cute thing.  The kids have spent the last few months memorizing all of the nursery rhymes.  They each chose their favorite one.  The kids painted some backdrops, dressed up, and performed for the other kids in the school and the parents.  You would go up to them and tap them on the shoulder and they would come to life and act out their rhyme.
Carson was Little Jack Horner:
Little Jack Horner
Sat in the corner
Eating his Christmas Pie
He stuck in his thumb
And pulled out a plum
And said what a good boy am I!
"Rain, Rain, go away!"
Carson and his friend.

Bling

I am so excited about the new ring Steve got me.
**Steve, this is the new ring you got me.  Do you like it?**

That's what I thought!

"A bad thing happened while you were out riding your bikes," I told my kids.  "The cops drove past and saw that all three of you were out on your bikes, scooters, and skateboards without your helmets.  They tracked me down and tried to haul me off to jail.  I told them that you would all wear your helmets from now on if they let me stay and be your Mom."

The kids were all terrified, and have worn their helmets every day since without fail.  Now I just need to find a way to get them to wear their shoes...

Spiderman

Just like his mama!  Enjoying a little ice-cream!
Here's our Spiderman!  Today while playing with Dad, he hit the ball over the fence.  He just ran over to the fence and climbed up it like it was nothing!  Steve was like..."um, can you do that again...?" When he did Steve called for me to come out with the camera.  Here he is...

Not sure if I am happy or sad
Just hate getting up early to run every Saturday all summer long
But I know it is good for me
And it will be fun
And Steve is excited
And I am sure I will live

WE ARE RUNNING THE ST. GEORGE MARATHON OCTOBER 3RD!
THIS IS THE BEST WORST NEWS I HAVE HEARD ALL DAY!!

Since you've been gone...

Dear Dad,
It has been one week and since you've been gone:
Coren fell out the window onto his head
Coren crashed on his bike
And then five minutes later crashed again
Carson hasn't stopped eating and got super fat
We beat up uncle Zak tons of times and he liked it
Grandpa taught Kenna how to mow the lawn
Coren found a flute-a-phone thing in your nightstand..which was weird...
We grew some strawberries in the yard and ate them
And Kenna rode her bike to WalMart twice!
We have missed you and can't wait to see you soon!
Love, your wild childs.

Great Grandparents

The Ellis's
The Slotbooms
We were lucky enough to see both sets of Great Grandparents on Mothers Day.  It is always fun to see them and for the kids to get to spend some time with them.  We love them all very much!

Jumpers

At our Mothers Day Celebration the kids once again decided to jump out of the tree.  This time they jumped without help!

Mothers Day Morning

We had a great Mother's Day morning.  We had spent that night at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Makenna and Grandpa made breakfast, and the kids we all SO excited to give me my presents.  They have been excited for a week!  THey all gave me the cutest and nicest things.  I am a very lucky Mom!

Makenna even rode her bike to WalMart herself and got me some really great things and a cute card that she had recorded me a message in.

It was a great morning!
