Chrsitmas Day

Christmas morning, the most exciting morning of the year!
The kids were so excited to find out that they got RockBand.
Carson wanted Lego Batman so bad.  He just kept hugging it!
Steve's new CD, "The Offspring" his favorite group!!
My new toothbrush!
Kenna is so funny.  She wanted a gift card.  So that is what she got.  It is weird that she is too old for toys now days.  She is growing up!
Carson and Coren had one main wish.  An Indiana Jones Whip.  They were happy boys!

Later that day my family all came out for dinner.  I had a huge meal to prepare, and just as it was all about to go into the oven our power went out.  It was a really bad thing.  And, to make matters worse, it didn't go back on.  SO, we packed up all of the food and drove to my parents to cook and eat.  It was kind of a disaster, but it turned out OK.  It will be something that we laugh about for years to come.

When we got home the kids decided that they wanted to sleep in our room.  I am the mean parent and told them to make a bed on the floor.  Next thing I knew Steve was bringing in their mattresses.  They were LOVING LIFE.
We have the cutest kids and we had a great Christmas together.

Christmas Eve.

The kids get so excited on Christmas Eve.  I was really curious about how excited Makenna would be seeing as this was the first year she was not "a believer" but she was way into the whole thing as usual.  She left a note, and her and the boys set out cookies for Santa with some milk, and carrots for the reindeer with some water.  They even left him a festive napkin, which they found crumbled and dirty on Christmas morning.  The cookies were eaten, and the carrots had been nibbled on.  How exciting!

Coren was excited for bed, and had all of the loot that he got at that evenings Christmas party behind his pillow so that no one could steal it in the night.  He slept on it all night long, and the good news was that it was still there in the morning.

The kids all spend Christmas Eve sleeping together, locked in a room.  They have a phone, and have to call us before they can come out.  They love it!  I told them that when they get older they all need to bring their families to our house on Christmas Eve (at least sometimes) so that we can have a giant Christmas morning.  They all agreed that they would.  That would be fun!  I hope it happens.

Gingerbread houses!

My group of activity days girls (15 of them) came over to make Gingerbread Houses.  We had tons of fun, made a HUGE mess, and the kids were really proud of their work.

And when it was all over, they ate the houses.  YUMMY!

Coren's Program

Coren had his first ever program.  It was so cute!  They sang Christmas songs and each said their "part" of "Twas the night before Christmas."  He did a great job, and surprised me with his singing.  I could actually hear him.  It was lots of fun, and we were all really proud of him!

Possibly crazy

Today I decided that it is pretty much for sure; I have lost my mind!  I haven't quite decided between the following possible issues:
1) I am self-destructive
2) I manage time poorly
3) Insanity

Here is what happened today.  Wait, let me start by pointing out somethings that others may not know about me.  First, it is three days to Christmas.  I have not finished shopping, and I have a very busy next few days.  Second, I am home alone, so snow removal falls into my hands right now.  Third, I just never know when to quit.

Today I slept in.  Why?  Because I could I guess.  I was really awake in bed, but I wanted to sleep in so badly that I just layed there and faked sleep.  I did!

When I finally woke up I checked my email and got really excited because the finished product of the book Song and I wrote had arrived.  It is amazing, if I do say so myself.  Better than I had ever hoped for.  As Song put it, we are bad asses.  We are!

I talked on the phone for a while (important things of course), and then decided to run.  I figured that I would go about 6 miles because my driveway was completely covered in snow, and I had to shovel it before I could leave the house.  I started to run.  I tried to stop.  8 miles later I was done, and glanced out the window at the snow and knew I had to shovel.  Oh crap!

I decided to do a quick shovel, and not really do all of the driveway.  We only use half of it, so why shovel the rest?  I started to shovel.  It was heavy, but I ended up shoveling it all.  Why?  I just can't stop.  I feel lazy if I do not do it all.  Then just as I finished, I looked up and it was covered again.  I hate show!

Just then I looked at the garage floor.  It was so dirty.  So, I decided to spray it out.  I didn't think first.  I forgot that water freezes.  I forgot that I was already cold.  I didn't realized that I would get all wet.  I forgot water and dirt make mud.
Next thing I knew, the hose sprung a leak, and water started to spray everywhere.
Water got all over the garage, especially on me and the ceiling.  I think it might grow ice-sickles, or cause water damage.  But, after some time and scrubbing, and squirting, the garage is clean.  I just hope it doesn't turn into an ice skating rink!  Fun!
                                                                     (the ceiling)
Then, I messed around with some book stuff, and then did the bravest thing of all, hit the stores.  When I came home, I saw that my neighbor had brought over this amazing carmel corn.  I am in love with it.  It brought a tear to my eye (really, I think I cried a little).  I ate a lot of it.  Enough that I am glad I ran those extra 2 miles.  I am not sure how carmel corn in amounts as large as I have consumed affect the body, but I may never poop again, or I may poop a lot.  I am scared.  I think I have an eating problem.  But YUM!

Now, instead of wrapping gifts, or cleaning my house I blog.  So, I don't know?  I guess I did get a lot done today, just not all of the things I needed to get done.  All is good, and the carmel corn is once again calling for me.  I will eat, and then sleep.  Life's crazy!  Or I'm crazy.  Not sure.

OH MY GOSH!

The other day after running on the treadmill I walked past the office and noticed that the computer screen looked really strange.  As I walked towards it I kept praying that there wasn't something wrong.  WELL, there was.  I yelled for Coren who was the last one in there, and he came in crying like crazy.  He confessed that he dropped the laptop.  I froze.  All I thought was
1)He is dead
2) There goes $1200
3) Crap, now I don't have a computer
I called Steve who was very nice and told me to go and get a new computer.  He said, "That thing is your life, you need one."
I was sad to find out that anything I was going to get was going to be way worse than my old computer.  Just as I was about to buy a new one, I had this brilliant thought.  I went up to the guy and asked, "Can I just plug a monitor into my laptop and see if that works."  I was so happy when he said yes.
I got a monitor as Costco, and came home and plugged it in.  The computer was stuck on my background, and nothing worked.  I tried to re-boot, and nothing.  Then, I ran my hand across the keyboard, and VOILA!  It worked.
I am a genius.  Or not!
So, my laptop screen is broken, and will cost over $1000 to fix, so that isn't happening, but I have a new monitor.  Oh, and Coren is still living, just spending a lot of time doing chores!

Wedding Part one.

Steve's sister got married .  The kids were SO excited, especially Makenna who got to be her Maid of Honor.  She told me that next to the bride and groom, she was the most important part of the wedding.  I agreed.

Makenna spent the entire night striking poses.  I would find her sitting in the middle of the floor looking at her bouquet and hoping the the cameraman would spot her and take a picture.
Most of the Grand kids were in the wedding party and walked down the isle.  They looked so cute!

Makenna did not love walking down the isle with this dude, and hated even more getting her picture taken with him.  It was funny!

Wedding Part two.

The kids got wild when the dancing started.  They had so much fun, and literally danced the night away.

                                                                     My little man!
Making due when she didn't have a partner.

These two danced like crazy.  Makenna made them stop dancing on slow songs, "This is for lovers!" she would say.
